About Dr Piers Clark

Alongside this role at Cura Terrae, Piers is Chairman of the Isle Group Ltd, a technical, specialist water consultancy. Isle Group Ltd has offices all over the world and works with over 350 utilities helping them identify and adopt new technology.

Piers formerly served as the managing director of Global Water Development Partners (GWDP), a Blackstone portfolio business with a £1 billion private equity fund. From 2010 to 2014, he held the positions of Commercial Director and Interim Asset Management Director at Thames Water, the largest water utility in the UK. Prior to this, he held the position of managing director of Mouchel’s Regulated Industries, where he oversaw a team of 3,000 people that provided engineering consulting and operational maintenance services to the rail, water, energy, and environment sectors.

In 2006, Piers helped establish an innovative funding mechanism for technology companies, called TAG (Technology Approval Group). TAG bridges the gap between venture capital investors and the water company end-users and has resulted in over £1bn being invested in water-related cleantech companies in recent years.
