Cura Terrae’s acquisition of EnviroCentre has been shortlisted for Private Equity Deal of the Year at the Insider South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2026.
The acquisition represents Cura Terrae’s largest transaction to date and its fifth and most strategic acquisition since the group’s formation in 2022. EnviroCentre, is a leading multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy founded in 1995, which employs more than 75 staff across offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeenshire. For over 30 years, the business has delivered environmental consultancy services in support of some of Scotland’s most significant infrastructure projects, building a strong reputation for technical excellence and long-standing client relationships.
EnviroCentre joins Cura Terrae’s Land and Nature division, bringing with them a strong reputation for delivering multidisciplinary environmental consultancy services across major infrastructure, development and public sector projects.
The deal was backed by Palatine Private Equity’s Impact Fund and Shawbrook Bank, to support Cura Terrae’s mission to empower businesses to take care of the Earth by managing environmental risk, improve sustainability and respond to climate change. Most importantly, the transaction cements Cura Terrae’s entry into the Scottish market for environmental consultancy. This bolsters the Group’s Scottish footprint, adding to its emissions testing services office in Glasgow.
Given the expanding head office and operational footprint in Sheffield which represents all our group services, we are helping put South Yorkshire on the map for environmental services, aligning with Sheffield’s ambitions as the ‘Outdoor City’. As demand for environmental expertise accelerates across sectors including infrastructure, energy and development, the deal highlights how innovative businesses from South Yorkshire can deliver on providing a breadth of expertise to support the UK’s transition to a more sustainable economy.
