Sheffield – Environmental consultancy Cura Terrae has launched a dedicated Marine and Coastal division, expanding its expertise to help clients protect, restore and enhance the UK’s marine and coastal environments.
Building on the specialist expertise brought into the Group through the acquisition of the Scottish-based consultancy, EnviroCentre in 2025, the new services bring together specialist ecological, environmental and technical expertise to support projects across coastal and marine environments. Working with port operators, developers, public bodies and infrastructure providers, the team will deliver practical, science-led solutions that balance environmental protection with sustainable development.
The Marine and Coastal Services offering is comprised of a comprehensive range of services, including Marine Development Consenting and Compliance; Environmental Impact Assessment; Marine and Terrestrial Ecology and Ornithology; Coastal Processes and Climate Resilience; and Marine Licensing for Dredging and Construction Projects. This significantly expands the services available for clients covering marine ecology surveys, habitat assessments, coastal biodiversity strategies, environmental impact assessment support, marine licensing advice, habitat restoration planning and long-term ecological monitoring.
As increasing pressure is placed on coastal habitats from climate change, infrastructure development and biodiversity loss, the new division has been established to help organisations meet evolving environmental legislation while delivering positive outcomes for nature.
Our coastlines and seas are among our most valuable natural assets in the UK supporting wildlife, communities and the economy. Launching our Marine and Coastal Services enables us to provide clients with the specialist expertise they need to navigate complex environmental challenges while delivering projects that contribute to healthier, more resilient marine ecosystems. This latest expansion strengthens our multidisciplinary offering, enabling the business to offer clients a comprehensive, full-service environmental consultancy.
The launch reflects the company’s continued investment in specialist environmental services and its commitment to supporting the UK’s ambitions for biodiversity recovery, climate resilience and sustainable coastal management.
Whether supporting port developments, coastal infrastructure, habitat restoration or renewable energy projects, the team combines scientific expertise with practical experience to develop solutions tailored to each project’s environmental and regulatory requirements.
